The Moving Picture
I love movies, especially when they are animated and even more when they are 2D. Though I never had the chance to work at least on a short one, I did cutscenes and trailer for games like Painkiller: Resurrection, Anderson 2: The Rise of R’lyeh or Fantasy Dynasty. Only the first title was released in 2009, but for the others I also created artworks, storyboards and even (co-wrote) the texts. Here are the videos of those three projects, which where released quite a while ago.
Fantasy Dynasty should have been a very complex strategy-game within a classic fantasy setting. Back in 2011 I worked almost for a year on it, but even inspite of a kickstarter-campaign it was never released. This should have been the intro. It was fun exploring a very different artstyle…
Anderson 2: The Rise of R’lyeh would have been a sequel to Robert D. Anderson & The Legacy of Cthulhu (which had even film scenes with real actors). It was 2008 when I worked at Homegrown Games on the project. For this I created probably my most famous and still one of my best artworks (the one right at the beginning obviously)…
For Painkiller: Resurrection I created all the cutscenes in a graphic novel-style, very much like the Max Payne-games. The release was in 2009 as mentioned above. I also co-wrote the story and the monologue/dialogue in English. In retrospect the texts and the overall plot may be a little… well… they could be better…^^ Some of it is at least a bit cringe. Also the art is often weak, but I guess I have learned a lot since then. It certainly was a fun project though…
